About MakeMidas
MakeMidas turns the photos already on your phone into portraits that still look like your pet: a royal or cartoon portrait, a photo of you with your dog, or a family photo with the pet you miss.

Why we built it
General AI image tools are good at making a beautiful dog. They are less good at making your dog. Coat color drifts, markings disappear, the ears change shape, and the result looks like someone else's pet. MakeMidas is built around one question: would you recognize your own pet?
How a portrait is made
1. You upload your photos
You upload one or more photos: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB each.
2. The AI model gets your photos and our instructions
Your photos go to an AI image model as references, together with instructions to keep your pet's face, ear shape, fur colors, markings and eye color. Today that model is ByteDance's Seedream 5.0 Flash, with Seedream 5.0 Pro as a backup, reached through OpenRouter.
3. The portrait comes back
The portrait comes back in the page. In our test runs on October 19, 2026, two royal portraits came back in 21 and 22 seconds; the page waits up to two minutes when the model is busy.
4. You buy only what you keep
If it looks like your pet, download it. On a subscription or with a credit pack the file is full-resolution 2K without the watermark.
How we test
Before we change a model or the instructions we give it, we run the same set of test photos through the new version and compare each result with the original pet by eye. Today that set is AI-generated phone-style photos of a dog, a cat, a person and a family. A change that makes a pet less recognizable doesn't ship.
Your photos
Your photos are stored privately, used only to make your portraits, and deleted automatically after a short time. They are never shown to other visitors, and we don't use them to train AI models.
How we protect your photosPricing
MakeMidas runs on credits. A portrait costs 10 credits and every account gets 10 free credits a day, so you can try it before paying. Monthly or yearly plans and one-time credit packs give HD files without the watermark.
